Greek Yogurt Bagels

makes 6 bagels

  • 2 cups all purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 cup greek yogurt such as Fage
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Sift the all purpose flour into a large mixing bowl. Add the Greek yogurt, the water and the baking powder. Add the salt and mix all the ingredients. Knead the dough until firm. Let the dough rest for a few minutes. 

Spray the bagel pan with olive oil spray and sprinkle the Everything Bagel seasoning on the pan. Set aside.

Begin forming the bagels. Dust your working surface with flour.Divide the dough into (6) six equal parts. Roll out each piece into a thick rope and place into the bagel pan to seal the ends. For the egg wash combine the egg, honey and a tablespoon of water. Brush each bagel with egg wash and then sprinkle with Everything Bagel seasoning on top. Be generous!

Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes at 375°F. Transfer bagels to a rack to cool completely for about 10 minutes.
